We Can't Surf
OK, so we don't play like Dick Dale, and we certainly don't look like Frankie
Avalon (dreamy sigh), but we have tried our hand at a surf rock tune.... and
failed... sort of....
OK, so it's Dick Dale meets Elvis Costello, with a little bit of Boston's "More Than
a Feeling" thrown in (kidding on that last part).
Check the new Tune "She Doesn't Feel Pretty" in the Tunes section and the new
blog in the (well duh) blog section.

Don't Judge Us, We're Just Doin' Our Thing
Well folks, nothing much to report this time around. We've got some new stuff
in the works and we're hoping to play out again sometime in the near future.
Until then, please enjoy these humble offerings from the SSHB basement:
New Pictures
A New Song
(a catchy ditty, once again featuring backing vox by the lovely CeeDev)
A New Blog
(Election madness abounds)
And don't forget to check back soon for video from the BobkaFest show!

Winter Tour
Yes, Yes, Y'all! We are fresh off our winter '08 tour!
After appearing at Bobka-fest, we are ready to get back in the studio and do
more damage to our hearing and your mental state.
You can check out a new song that we played for the first time live, "The Truth
About Lies" in the Tunes area. This is actually a cover song originally recorded
by The Finnish Milkman. We don't think he'll mind though.
Also, check out the blog for more on Bobka-fest and what it's like to be 12
inches taller for a short time.
Check back soon for pics and video from Bobka-fest!

'Tis the Season
Here we are in the midst of the holiday season. Another year almost over, and
what have we accomplished?
We have written another song. I know we didn't get around to saving the
planet, by ridding it of cancer, terrorism, intolerance, Dick Cheney, greenhouse
gasses, or Britney Spears, but hopefully our new tune will help to distract from
our lack of world saving-ness (?). I mean, c'mon, we're not Bono!
So, check out our new tune, "Microwave". May it be a pleasant distraction
from your guilt of not having given to charity this season or running that old
lady off the road at the mall because you wanted to get "Elmo TMX" before he
was gone from Target's shelves.
And as always, don't forget to check the blog for the latest blast of blasphemy
and pop-culture!

Only More Love to Offer
Well kids, not much new under the sun this time around.
Since the last update:
1/2 of the band has been obsessed with Halo 3.
1/4 of the band is making a go at being his own boss.
1/4 of the band went to Vegas and came back claiming that he didn't find
Elvis, much to the dismay of the other 3/4 of the band.
But as we get ramped up again with recording, a plethora of ideas are
streaming from our beer bottles and getting tangled up in guitar and
microphone cords on the floor.
We spend most of our practices untangling these and making some sort of
sense out of them. The result can be found in the Tunes section. Check out
"The Love Behind Our Backs"
Also, due to a massive brain failure on the webmaster's part (and the inferior
Windows operating system), our past tunes were unavailable for awhile. They
are back!
And don't forget to check out the blog for lots of clever banter that will make
you laugh, cry, and question your purpose in life.

Keeping it Real
As I sit here typing this and nursing a mild Guiness hangover, I think of last
evening at the Grady Tavern.
Half of the Hamster went to check out the 1 year anniversary of Rock Yer
Socks shows at the Grady, and it was hands down, one of the most incredible
gatherings of talent and originality that the area has to offer.
These people (bands, organizers, and patrons) are truly real. Everyone is
incredibly supportive of one another in this little local music scene, and it is
always a pleasure to go to these shows.
Last night's bands The Sawtelles, Shrinnirs, and the Can Kickers were all very
real and amazing!
And now for an example of non-real or "counterfeit" people (like the ones that
are all tough behind a chat room screen name or Xbox gamer tag, or behind
the wheel of their tricked out, dark tinted , Honda Civic) check out this website
for "The Land of Counterfeits" in Tunes, and a blog that will break language
barriers!

First Guest Musician
It's been awhile, and alot has happened since the last update. We've played
another Grady Tavern gig with the Rock Yer Socks folks, featuring some fine
musicians and groups.
We've also... well, I guess that's it. Maybe not alot has happened after all.
However, we are back with a new song, and once again, SSHB tries something
different. What started as playing around with the mix of our latest song,
turned into an interesting addition to it.
If you listen to our new song, (and you WILL listen, right?) you will not only
hear your favorite hamsters, but also the sultry voice of CeeDev on backing
vocals. Our music has been called alot of things, but for once, it might just be
called "sexy".
Check out "eDisharmony" in Tunes!
Also, see an interesting Blog about cultural differences and nose picking.

Three for the price of Free
How long does it take to write a song? Well, that all depends on the song and
the writer, doesn't it?
In our case a song is usually written and at least partially recorded in one
night. Recently however, we had a goal. Three songs written and recorded in
one night. Our goal was reached.
Yes in one night we had all of the music recorded to three new songs, and only
the vocals remained. This is because Gym Nasty needs to go home and gargle
with secret spices, given to him by an old Chinese kung-fu master / vacuum
cleaner salesman, and meditate over his Xbox for an hour to get his golden
vocal sound.
We hope you enjoy the mini concept album Unforgiven 6-1, 6-2, and 6-3 in the
tunes section.
And as always kids, IT'S BLOG!

Rude Boys?
Never ones to settle for playing one style of music, we decided once again to try
something different. All of us are fans of at least a little bit of ska. We never
thought we would (or could) play it, but we started screwing around with a ska
riff and beat and Mr. Nasty started to scream "Ya Ya Ya Ya Ya Ya!" into the
mic. Well, after playing that for a few minutes we all stopped and thought "Hey,
that wasn't too bad!". So with a few refinements, an awesome walking bass
line and some lyrics (the ya ya's are still at the end for good measure), "I'm
Gonna Grow Up..." was born! (The full title is significantly longer, see it in the
"Tunes" section).
And as always, look to the blog for more insight into the warped world of SSHB.
Peace, Love, Unity, Music

SSHB Live! Well... Sort of.
Hey all! We're just spittin' em out left and right these days! Just a few weeks
after the release of "Roll Over", we bring you "My Demography". This is a bit of
a departure from our usual stuff and we really love playing it. Check it out in
the "Tunes" section.
Also, this Thursday (4/26), at 7:30pm EST, we will be attempting to do a live
webcast from Ray's basement! We will be sending 15 minutes of our band
practice to your computer LIVE! Check out our friends at www.famefor15.com
for details.

Sights and sounds are all around!
We're back from our "Before the Snow Melts" tour 2007 and back in the studio
errr... basement. This latest update includes many new features to amaze and
astound! Including a picture gallery from our gig at the Grady Tavern, new
video (from the same show), and a new song "Roll Over" in the updated Tunes
section.
The Tunes and the pics can be seen in their respective places on the sight, and
the video can be viewed by clicking the new TV icon in the corner of this page.
And once again, a new blog entry from Gym Nasty that will make you question
your notions of reality.

It's Been Awhile!
Well, this is our first website update of 2007. Don't worry, we haven't been
taking a break. We've been practicing!
A couple of months ago, we discovered a group of music lovers who go by the
name RockYer Socks! , who book indie shows in the Hartford area. We started
corresponding with them, and went to check out a show. They have invited us
to play a free show at one of their regular venues, The Grady Tavern in
beautiful Manchester, CT. So if you're not busy on February 23rd, come on out
and support local musicians and us! See the blog for more info on our 2007
ummm...tour.
Along with the exciting news of our first public appearance since Chris and
Elaine's house party this past summer, we have another treat for you. Check
out our new song "Fist Out of Time" in the Tunes section.

A Wedding - A Song
Well, Captain Spaulding is now a married hamster! Check out some pics of the
stag party and wedding in the Pics section. You will see that the band cleans
up pretty well, when we're not drunk and stupid.
Also, during Spaulding's honeymoon, the rest of the band got together and
finished up a track or two that we had started, and started working on new
material. Which means, we've got lots of new stuff in the pipeline! We're
starting the string of hits with "Security of the First Person". Check it out in
Tunes.

Another Re-Visit
Once again, we are taking what's old and making it new. Our new song has
been with us since previous incarnations of the band, and always a favorite to
play. The song was also adapted as part of a 10 minute medley that was
composed for our friend, Andrew's photography show opening. Now we bring
you the current version of the song, now called "To Death". Check it out in the
Tunes section.
Also we have added some new pics of us in our natural habitat (no, not a bar),
Gene's basement. Yes, see us drink, see us play, see us get completely....
ummm stupid.
And don't forget to check out the blog!

The Lost Song
Anyone who has been visiting this site from the beginning may remember a line
in the Tunes section that said: "Idealism of My Suicide"....Coming Soon. Well,
after all this time, it's finally arrived. You can hear it in the Tunes section.
Also, do you remember the 4 song disas...err... experiment that we tried a while
back? The one where we each wrote and sang a song, while switching
instruments and sometimes playing something that we had no business
playing? Well, in a shameless effort to get people to browse more of the site
(the more hits we get, the more money we get paid by the government for
distracting you from things like Iraq, and gas prices...but I've said too much),
we've hidden a techno remix of one of those songs, "Crackpot" somewhere on
the site. It is a wonderful remix by the famous DJ Headache Medicine.
Where is it?
That's for you to find out.
And don't forget to check out the latest blog entry by Gym Nasty.

Political Techno
OK, The Hamster has gone political, just in time for the primary elections....and
you (yes, you Mr. Lieberman) can dance to it!
Unfortunately, our drummer, Rene Day didn't make it to one of our sessions
again, but instead of writing an acoustic song about him, we had one of the
cheesy drum patterns on the keyboard fill in. Add a little happy-bass and
some sing-songy guitar, with just a pinch of industrial clamor thrown in, and you
have "Capital Dance Floor". You can dig it in the "Tunes" section.
Also, some friends of the Hamster, have recently been asking why they aren't in
the "Pics" section. Well, all I can say to you is, look again. See some pics from
a night of drinking at the pub and some new Crazy Pineapple pics.
In the Blog, Gym Nasty reminisces about our first gig.

The Hamster's Big Day Out....
Our first live show in front of people happened on July 8th, 2006. A crowd
gathered at a house party hosted by our friends Chris and Elaine. These
unsuspecting party goers had no idea what was about to be unleashed upon
them. Then it happened... The roar of guitars firing up, the screech of a mic
being turned on, the pounding of the drums... Yes, SSHB was in da house. We
would like to thank those who showed up (and stayed) to support us as we
ventured into new territory..You can download our new song, "Push Isolation",
in the Tunes section, as well as live footage of us playing it at the event
mentioned above. Also available for download, is video of Rich performing the
official SSHB dance. (Trust me, it's worth the download!) In this week's blog - a
tribute.
6/6/06: Scary.....
Well, It's hell day. And to honor 6/6/6, we have done a cover of the Iron
Maiden song "Number of the Beast"! Ummmm... Kidding. But seriously, we do
have a new song. It's called "Hell Butcher Slays the Demon Spawn With His
Own Entrails". YES! I'm kidding again! Nothing gets by you. It's actually
called "Always Never", and it's not even death metal. Instead, once again, the
hamster rolls over to show its soft white underbelly. Also, Check out the blog,
where our ever articulate Gym Nasty has waxed poetic about traffic, gas prices,
and the burden of working for a living.
5/21/06: New Song! Have you ever gotten the feeling that we're screwed?
Well my brothers and sisters, you are not alone. In fact certain bands named
after furry little creatures have written songs about said feeling. Check out the
Tunes section for one of them. The band is called Super Sunday Hamster
Blender, and the song is called.... well, "Screwed".
5/1/06: New Song! After coming off of the four song disast.... errr... experiment,
we decided to come back with probably the most easily accessible song we've
done to date. Check out the Tunes section for the new (pop?) song, "One More
Sunny Day". We guarantee you will be saying "Hey, it's time to fall in love.".
Also check out the new blog entry by our own Gym Nasty.
And if that's not enough, we now have links to our favorite websites in our bios.
You can learn more about us from the websites we visit. Well, the ones we tell
YOU we visit anyway. Some sites are just not meant to be linked from this one....
PEACE!
4-10-06: The website has a new look and feel to it! We'd like to thank Mandy
and Don for the pics of Oscar and Olivia, which we used for the new front
page. Unfortunately, since these pics were taken, Oscar has passed away. Our
condolences go out to Mandy and Don for their loss. Along with the new site,
we've released 4 NEW SONGS! These are not our conventional songs though.
We decided it would be interesting to each write and sings a song AND switch
instruments around. The result? Well, go to the Tunes section and hear for
yourself. Also, check out the Blog for more info on this disturbing experiment.
3-21-06: No this song is not about that whacky TV, Nazi commandant, nor
about the rights of fetuses. This song is about something we can all relate to....
Hating our jobs. Check out "Abortion Colonel Klink" in the Tunes section.
2-28-06: Another dive into the softer side of the hamster. And yes, it has death
in the title. Check out "The Warmth That Died" in the Tunes section.
2-10-06: Sqeak Squeak Sqeak....Fuck....New Song!.....Squeak...Fuck....Go to
Tunes section. Fuck.
1-15-06: Hmmm... It's been awhile, but we're finally back with new content!
First off, check out the pics section for some shots of Allieburger's (of Crazy
Pineapple fame) 18th birthday party. There were animals, blindfolds, cheerios,
foodfights, and noodle beatings. Yes, fun was had by all! Also, we recently
had a recording session that Rayve couldn't attend. So we did what any
supportive band mates would do.... We recorded a song about him. See the
Tunes section for the eerie, drummerless, "Ray Never Leaves". And as a special
post-holiday treat, Swayze has added a new blog entry. Just follow the links in
the Interact section.
12-7-05: Check out the new song, "Wires and Paste" in the Tunes section! Also
a new entry by Swayze in the SSHB blog. Check it out in the Interact section to
gain a little insight as to why we do that thing we do. Also, we have one
hamster pic. C'mon people. We know you have (or know someone who has)
hamsters and we know where you live. Don't make me leave my computer.
You wouldn't like me when I leave my computer.
11-3-05: Swayze has started the SSHB blog! Check it out in the "Interact"
section of the site. Also, check out the "Pics" section for Swayze and Cuddles'
scrapbook from their recent Memphis trip with friend of the Hamster, Rich.
10-18-05: New Song! Go to the Tunes page to check out "Lines". New pics
added as well from the recording session (see "Lacy Love Session" in the Pics
page). See Rayve E. and The Goldfish expose themselves, Swayze wooing his
beer, and Cuddles teaching the safe way to sit on someone's shoulders. Oh
yeah, and a dog.
10-8-05: We are now public. Exposed. Humiliated. Songs, photos, lyrics, and
other pretentious crap added.
10-5-05: Check out the new Logo! Download it for FREE in the "Store" section
of this website. Show your hamster spirit! Paint it on your car, tattoo it on your
forehead, or just drink a six pack and stare at it for hours!
10-2-05: Website launched! SSHB now has web presence! Yes, here we are
on the internet. Among
all of the porn and propaganda. We are OUT THERE BABY!!!
